The President of the CEC attended the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Association of European Election Officers

Today, September 21, 2021, the President of the Central Electoral Commission, Angelica Caraman, participated in the meeting of the Executive Committee of the Association of European Election Officers (ACEEEO), chaired by the Permanent Electoral Authority of Romania.

The participants of the event, held in a videoconference, discussed topics of common interest to the members of the organization, including the program of the General Assembly of ACEEEO and the organization of the annual conference of the Association.

ACEEEO Secretary General Zsolt Szolnoki congratulated Angelica Caraman and the entire Committee on Investment in office. The President of the CEC mentioned that, in her capacity as head of the electoral authority, she highly appreciates the fruitful cooperation with the counterpart institutions, members of the Association and will ensure further development of mutually beneficial relations for the benefit of promoting participatory democracy.

Next week, on September 28-30, a CEC delegation, led by President Angelica Caraman, will participate in the 30th edition of the ACEEEO annual conference, entitled "Youth, Elections, European Identity" - the common future of democracy in Europe”. The event will take place in Bucharest, as the presidency of the Association is held, this year, by the Permanent Electoral Authority of Romania.

The Central Electoral Commission of the Republic of Moldova has been a full member of ACEEEO since 1998, and since September 2013 it has been a member of the Executive Committee of this institution. During 2014-2015, the CEC held the presidency of ACEEEO.
