The Central Electoral Commission, the Center for Continuous Electoral Training, and the National Institute of Justice signed a collaboration agreement today, October 12. The document will help to establish a sustainable framework for cooperation and consultation in the process of organizing the training of election officials, judges, and prosecutors, as well as other categories of persons performing justice.

Commission President Angelica Caraman believes that this agreement will increase the credibility of the electoral process through the exchange of experience between the signatory institutions, in part related to the application of electoral legislation. It must be applied uniformly and without interpretation, in such a way as to enable all participants in the process to freely exercise their rights and obligations. At the same time, the Agreement creates premises for the discussion of the idea of specialization of the courts that resolve electoral disputes.

In this context, the director of the Institute, Diana Scobioală, underlined the importance of signing the document or, the partnership, already established between these institutions, will provide a sustainable framework for the development of relations in the electoral field.

According to the cooperation agreement, the signatory parties will combine their efforts to identify and analyze the most sensitive issues in electoral law and judicial practice in guaranteeing human rights and fundamental freedoms.
