The members of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) had a meeting with His Excellency, Daniel Ioniță, the Ambassador of Romania to the Republic of Moldova.

The interlocutors addressed a number of issues on the Commission's agenda, in particular those relating to the institution's priority areas: amending electoral legislation and implementing alternative voting methods. A special topic of the discussions referred to the experience of the Romanian state authorities, partly related to the modernization of the electoral processes, being the digitization of the electoral lists and the efficiency of the activity of the electoral bureaus of the polling stations on election day.

The members of the CEC appreciated Romania's openness and support in the process of consolidating the democratic processes in our country. At the same time, the parties reaffirmed their commitment to continue and develop the good relations of collaboration established by the CEC and the Permanent Electoral Authority of Bucharest.
