The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) took note of the Directive No 92 issued by the Commission for Exceptional Situations (CSE) of the Republic of Moldova on November 3 on canceling the registration of candidates appointed by the SANSA party to run in the general local election of November 5, 2023.

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) took note of the Directive No 92 issued by the Commission for Exceptional Situations (CSE) of the Republic of Moldova on November 3 on canceling the registration of candidates appointed by the SANSA party to run in the general local election of November 5, 2023.

With this in mind, CEC decided to immediately inform level I and level II constituency electoral commissions, as well as electoral commissions of polling stations about the provisions of CSE's Directive.

At the same time, electoral commissions of polling stations or electoral councils that act as commissions, as the case may be, will mark candidates appointed by the SANSA party as "Withdrawn" in all ballot papers not later than 18:00 of November 4, 2023. Likewise, the respective candidates will be marked as "Withdrawn" in preprinted minutes of vote counting results prepared by electoral commissions and in minutes for summing-up voting results prepared by relevant constituency electoral commissions.

Lower-level electoral bodies will inform the public about the cancellation of candidates registered by the SANSA political party and withdraw the lists of candidates posted by constituency electoral commissions in polling stations. In this regard, decisions to confirm the representatives and trusted persons of candidates from the SANSA political party will also be revoked.

By its decision, CEC ordered the SANSA party to submit, before 17:00 of November 6, 2023, the final financial report for the entire election campaign.

By 19.00 of November 4, 2023, level II constituency electoral commissions will inform the Central Electoral Commission about the enforcement of the Directive No 92 issued by the Commission for Exceptional Situations of the Republic of Moldova and CEC's decision.
