Central Electoral Commission informs that 60 030 citizens with the right to vote of the Republic of Moldova abroad, as well as residing in localities on the left bank of the Dniester River (Transnistria), have previously registered to participate in elections for President of the Republic of Moldova. In addition, we inform that, 2819 out of the total number of applications were made in paper form.

In this context, the Commission announces that it has notified the Intelligence and Security Service and the Ministry of Internal Affairs to verify the authenticity of the data from the pre-registration applications, submitted both in written form and online.

We remind you that the pre-registration results, the information on the number of voters who participated in elections organised in the national electoral district, as well as the information obtained by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration from the competent authorities of the countries of residence represent the basic criteria underpinning the decision on organising the opening of polling stations abroad.

According to the legal provisions, the polling stations, including those opened abroad, are set up at least 35 days before the voting day, specifically until the 26th of September this year.
