The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has established the organization of 139 polling stations abroad for the early parliamentary elections of July 11, 2021.
According to the resolution of the CEC, the decision was taken in accordance with the electoral legislation, with the prior endorsement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI). Thus, the polling stations will be set up within the diplomatic missions and consular offices of the Republic of Moldova, as well as in other places, based on the number of voters who participated in the previous elections held at the national level, on data of the preliminary registration, as well as on the information received by the MFAEI from the competent authorities of the countries of residence of Moldovan citizens regarding their number and place of residence.
The Electoral Council of the electoral district for polling stations established abroad no. 38 shall constitute the electoral offices of the polling stations.
In addition, according to the CEC resolution, the MFAEI has the task to identify the venues for the polling stations, in accordance with the technical terms stipulated in the regulatory framework, as well as to propose qualified persons as chairpersons of the electoral offices of the established polling stations.
