4 January 2019 is the last day for the submission of the applications on the registration of initiative groups supporting candidates running for Member of the Parliament in the single-member districts

Chisinau, CEC –Central Electoral Commission reminds that 4 January 2019 is the last day for the submission of applications on the registration of initiative groups supporting candidates running for Member of the Republic of Moldova’s Parliament in single-member districts.

According to the legal framework’s provisions, for the registration of the initiative group, the candidate running for Member of the Parliament shall personally submit to the district electoral council the following documents, no later than 50 days prior to the election day,:

  1. application (of registration) in writing;
  2. minutes of people’s assembly/competent body of joint applicants on the establishment of the initiative group and support/nomination of the competitor running for Member of the Parliament;
  3. list of the initiative group’s members;
  4. copy of the competitor’s ID with the booklet (for IDs series A). both sides – recto and verso;
  5. decision on nominating the person in charge for the initiative group’s finances (treasurer), if applicable;
  6. charter and certificate of registration, in copy certified by the seal of the political party;
  7. for electoral bloc of parties, the copy of the Central Electoral Commission Decision for their registration.

Within 3 days from the receipt of the aforementioned documents, the single member district electoral council shall check their accuracy and shall make a decision related to their registration or shall reject the registration of the initiative group.

We note that today, 31 December 2018, 157 initiative groups have been registered, 62 applications on the registration of competitors running for Member of the Parliament have been submitted and 5 electoral competitors have been registered.
