CEC Moldova participated in the observation of Early Parliamentary Elections in the Republic of Kazakhstan

A delegation of the Central Electoral Commission, led by the Chairperson of the institution, Angelica Caraman, participated in the observation of the Early Parliamentary Elections from the Republic of Kazakhstan, which took place yesterday, on the 19th  of March, 2023.

The Kazakh people elected their deputies of the eighth legislature of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan (one of the two Chambers of the supreme representative body). Elections were also held for deputies in legislative bodies at the regional, district level and cities.

During the Election Day, CEC representatives observed the electoral process in several polling stations from the city of Astana and participated in the procedure of tabulation of the results and counting the votes.

As part of the program organized for international observers, was held a meeting with representatives of foreign electoral authorities. This was a good opportunity for the participants to be informed about the peculiarities of the organization of the given elections, in the context of the new constitutional reform of 2022, which established that the Parliamentary Elections should take place on the basis of the mixed system.
