Central Electoral Commission warns political parties about the obligation to comply with the provisions on personal data protection normative acts.

Personal data of citizens with the right to vote (name, surname, personal numerical code, address of residence, political beliefs etc.) should be processed strictly in compliance with Law no. 113/2011 and with no possibility of disclosing data to third parties without the consent of personal data subjects.

Therefore, we draw the attention of political parties on the fact that, as data operators, they are responsible for personal data processing and must take into account the nature, application field, context and goals of the processing. Moreover, they must take the risk for the rights and freedoms of individuals being able to demonstrate the conformity of processing activities.
