Of the total number of voters registered in the State Registry of Voters (3,282,783), 2,787,752 citizens with the right to vote are assigned by administrative-territorial units of the 2nd level (see table below). The difference consists of persons who are citizens of the Republic of Moldova but do not have official domicile or residence, including those who have legally emigrated abroad (236,744 persons), and people with the right to vote having the domicile in the administrative-territorial units on the left bank of Nistru river, which are temporarily outside the sovereign control of the constitutional authorities of the Republic of Moldova (258,287).
